Our Story
Precision Automated Technology started in 1994 with an idea and an opportunity. The idea was to further develop a prototyped technology (automatic paper cup denester) into an automated system. The opportunity was a sudden change in employment status of the founder, R. Patrick Johnson. Within a few months the first customer was secured, employees were hired, plant space was leased, computers and machine tools were purchased and P. A. T. was in business!!
Shortly, additional automation needs in bakery and food production plants were identified, and the creative team went to work to provide solutions to those needs. A broad array of custom automation solutions grew from those beginnings. Over the subsequent years, the initial successes lead to growth and expansion into larger facilities and more employees.
The initial systems focused on the automation needs of large commercial bakeries. As our capabilities grew, there was a natural adaptation of the Precision’s core technology to other systems and other industries. In early 2000, it was evident that the future of industrial automation would be based upon robotic solutions, and Precision made the transition to that technology.
From a first robotic system that automatically placed parchment sheets into multiple corrugated boxes, then into a moving oven, our robotic expertise, capability, and experience has quickly developed into industry leading and recognized robotic solutions. And it is not just our robotic innovations that have grown: Precision continues to offer innovative leading-edge automation solutions to our customers in the medical products, automotive, aerospace, packaging, and foods industries.
